What to wear

Clean work clothes: jeans or work pants without holes, a plain shirt, boots.

Questions they may ask

1. Tell me about yourself.
2. Why do you want to work here?
3. Do you have a criminal record? Tell me about it.
4. Why is there a gap in your work history?
5. When can you start?
6. Tell me about your driving record.
7. Are you comfortable being away from home overnight?
8. Can you pass a DOT drug screen?

When they ask about your record

Keep it under 30 seconds, be honest, and bring it back to the job. If your record was expunged, you may answer about the expunged part as if it never happened.

1. Is this local, regional, or over-the-road?
2. Do you hire drivers with a record, and how far back do you look?
3. Do you offer paid CDL training?
4. What would make someone great in this job?
5. What are the next steps, and when should I follow up?
